Do Your Clothes Need Organizing?

Written by Doris Donnerman (last updated September 16, 2021)

Chances are that this is no real surprise to you, but in case you did not know the leading cause of a disorganized and messy closet are the clothes that you have. In situations such as this, it should be readily apparent that if you do not take the time to organize your clothes, then you are going to have a serious problem. That problem would be a clogged, congested and chaotic mess that you are never going to be bale to find anything in. Here are a few suggestions you can use to be able to organize your wardrobe in a more efficient manner. Look on the bright side, if you have a more organized wardrobe, then you are going to have more storage space, and the more space you have, the more clothes you can buy.

The first step to organizing your clothes would be to decide on a day, or time to do organize the clothes. Considering that most people have quite a bit of clothes, organizing them can take quite a bit of time. I would suggest that you set aside a day, preferably one where you don't have anything else planned, in order to do this. Once you have decided on a time to do this, you are ready to start gathering all your clothes in one place.

As you are going about gathering your clothing, you can actually start organizing them. Do this by separating your clothes into different categories. I would suggest that you separate them into different seasonal types. Separate these clothes into groupings like fall, spring, summer and winter fashions. After you have piled everything into these four categories, you can then start to pack away the clothes that are currently not in season.

Several different methods are available for the individual who needs to store the clothes that they are not going to need. Considering how bulky clothing storage can quickly become, I would suggest using a couple different methods. The first would be to place all of your clothes into different plastic bags, like garbage bags. I would even suggest using different colors of bags for each of the different seasons, that way you can later on find the specific season with greater ease. After placing those clothes to be stored into their different bags, then use a vacuum cleaner to suck out all the air in each one. This is going to compress each bag to the point that you can easier store those clothes. Some of the ways that you can do that would be to place the compressed bags into a box, or maybe even luggage that is not being used at the moment, there by being able to give double duty to your luggage.
