Organize Your Hair Care Products
Over the years, as I have cleaned out my bathroom, I have been consistently surprised to find out how much of my bathroom has been taken over by hair gel, shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, and so on. I have noticed that when someone doesn't take the time to organize these and similar products, then they have a tendency to quickly overrun and take over anyone's bathroom. You would be surprised to find out exactly how many different types of hair-care products you can find in a person's bathroom, even if that person does not have a whole lot of hair to begin with.
In order to regain control of your bathroom from the rampant forces of hair-care products, there are some simple steps that anyone can do. Many people may think that since these steps are so easy, that they cannot really work. Those people could not be further from the truth! Actually, these are the easiest and most effective methods that anyone can use to take care of these little problems that tend to crop up from time to time.
- Remove. When you start your process for organizing your bathroom, you need to make sure that you remove all of your hair-care products. At the same time, you need to clean out and remove everything from the area of the bathroom that you wish to use as the storage facility. By doing this, you are going to be able to make sure that you have adequate materials necessary for the storage of your hair care products.
- Discard. As you are removing all of your hair-care products form your bathroom, take a close look at them. If they have passed their shelf life, have not been used for some time, or are almost emptied, then discard them. It does absolutely no good to keep something that is empty or almost gone. This is, in fact, one of the leading causes for clutter in the bathroom.
- Organize. What is necessary in this step is deciding how you are going to organize your hair care products. You can do this in so many different ways that it literally boggles the mind. If you happen to have a large cabinet in your bathroom, you could dedicate a shelf for the exclusive use of those products that you are keeping. Or, if you happen to only have a single bathroom for the use of the entire home, you might want to look into more creative methods of storage. Since there is no law that says you have to keep the bottles that they come in, you could always try to use different colored bottles, with each color assigned to a different person in the home.
- Maintain. After you have developed an organizational process, you now need to maintain the system. This part of the process cannot be stressed enough. If the system, whatever system you have decided to use, is not maintained then you are going to be right back where you started from.
