Keeping Your Kitchen Gadgets Organized

Pantry Organizing

Summary: Is there really anything that is more annoying than to go into your pantry to look for your favorite dinner ingredients, only to find that you can't? Whether it's because your pantry is so disorganized that it looks as if a small tornado went through it, or you simply can't find want you want because everything is jumbled together, it can be a major pain. Here's how you can go about doing a little pantry organizing.

If there is one place in the kitchen that needs to be organized, then it has got to be the pantry. Without proper pantry organization, it is next to impossible to know what you have to work with. In fact, one of the main reasons to begin pantry organizing is that you might want to know if your cooking ingredients are still even any good! Keep in mind that pantry organizing can actually help you lead a healthier life.

  1. Plan. Whenever you begin any type of organization project, it is always a good idea to draw out al little diagram of the space you will be working with. This allows you to have a blue print of what you are working with. Simply draw a little sketch of your pantry space, and then begin assigning areas on this picture as to what you want there. For example, do you want your all your cereals together? If so, then assign a space on your blue print.
  2. Remove and seperate. Once you have an idea of what you would like your end result to look like, it is time to begin making that dream a reality. Remove everything from your pantry, and this means everything! As you are pulling things out the pantry, begin to separate your items into the different categories according to your blue print. A great area that you can do this at is your kitchen table.
  3. Discard. Remember to look at the expiration dates of your pantry contents as you go through them. Anything that has not been used in a long while, or that has expired go ahead and throw them away. This will allow you to remove any unnecessary clutter from your pantry, and also ensure that you don't eat any food that may harm you.
  4. Clean. Go ahead and clean your pantry. Having a properly cleaned pantry will help prevent any pest or rodent problems. In addition, it will keep the dust and grime down to a minimum.
  5. Implement and maintain. Go ahead and implement your organization plan from step 1. This means that you can go ahead and place everything into their specific areas that you have planed out. After putting your organization plan into effect, it is time to maintain it. If you do not maintain the plan that you have in place, you will simply end up with the same problem that you had before, and having to do all the work all over again.
